Dental Implants

If you’ve experienced tooth loss, whether it’s due to decay or an accident, then a dental implant can effectively restore your smile and bring back optimal functionality to your teeth. While nothing compares to having the original tooth in its optimal condition, full dental implants offer the next best alternative, as they replace the missing tooth root as well as the missing tooth.

If you need urgent tooth replacement and are looking for affordable dental implants, make an appointment with the trusted team at Integrated Dental Health in Katoomba.

The Importance of Full Dental Implants

When you lose a tooth, it’s important that you undergo tooth implant treatment to fill the gap that it leaves behind. Not only does this help to get your mouth back to optimal functionality, but full mouth dental implants can also prevent the onset of oral health problems.

Problems that can be avoided with a dental implant include a reduction in jawbone density. Leaving the gap unfilled can lead to gum problems, while the teeth on either side of the gap can move position and become crooked, making cleaning very difficult.

The Procedure

Integrated Dental Health utilise the latest digital planning and 3D-guided printing technology in order to develop and achieve the most ideal implant placement.  The benefit of computer-simulated surgical planning is to achieve a screw-retained crown design which is the ideal implant to crown connection according to well-documented dental implant research.

Our dentists use globally available implant brand Osstem®.

Integrated Dental Health only use genuine screws and components to ensure you have exact precision fit between the implant and the final dental crown.

Dental implant treatment typically takes place over two appointments. During the first stage, our implant dentist will make a small incision into your gum and then gently place the implant into the gum line. The precise positioning is determined in advance through x-rays and examinations.

Made from medical grade titanium or ceramic, the implant is left alone for 3-6 months as it bonds naturally with the jawbone. The bonded implant then acts as the substitute for the natural tooth root, upon which the specially molded crown or dental bridge is fixed once the 3-6 month healing period has ended.

Benefits of Tooth Implant Treatment

Full dental implants offer many advantages. Among these benefits are:

  • They stop your existing teeth from shifting from their fixed position and negatively affecting your bite.
  • They can prevent deterioration of the jaw bone.
  • They minimise the likelihood of gum shrinkage.
  • They can reduce stress imposed on surrounding teeth.

Like your normal teeth, full mouth dental implants require regular brushing (twice a day) combined with once-daily flossing. If you’d like to arrange an appointment for tooth implant treatment with Integrated Dental Health, call us on (02) 4708 7007.
